Party at Central!

We hope you were able to come out to our Opening Celebration at Central Library on Saturday. Hundreds of guests enjoyed refreshments, tours by the project architects, a scavenger hunt and crafts for kids, and entertainment by Erick Traplin, a KW Symphony string ensemble, and Lost and Found Theatre. Deborah Moss, the artist behind our installation Flux, was here to answer questions. Artist Jennifer Gough opened her new exhibit in the Central Library Art Gallery. Our staff also held download clinics and 3D printer demonstrations. And many of you left with your new book bags filled with books, movies and magazines.

Please continue reading, click on the first photo and scroll through the gallery.

Your support for this project over the past four years has been strong and unwavering. We’d like to thank all of our customers, donors, the City of Kitchener, all of the current and former board members, and all of the contractors, subcontractors and trades people who worked so hard to make this vision a reality.

If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit, please stop in any time to your “public living room” or plan to attend one of our events or programs this month.

This is YOUR library – Where community connects.
