After a summer break, we’re excited to return to PubLit for the fall season, with our first meeting this coming Tuesday, Sept. 30. We’re hoping to see the familiar faces of our books and beer friends at the Firkin at the Tannery, and some new faces as well.
If you haven’t been to PubLit, give it a chance. It’s a totally relaxed, no-homework-required book club intended for (but not limited to) the 20s and 30s crowd. There are no selected titles. Read whatever you like – a book, magazine, graphic novel, blog post – and come chat about it over a drink at the pub. No registration is required; just drop in.
Sept. 30 is our usual general interest meeting, and a chance to get caught up chatting about our summer reads.
But at the request of some of our PubLit regulars, we’ll be holding some “theme nights.” Our Oct. 28 meeting will feature Halloween reads. Whether you’re interested in psychological thrillers, creepy graphic novels, murder mysteries, vampires, werewolves, or classic ghost stories, we’ve got something on our shelves for you.
Or maybe you just want some ideas for a Halloween-themed party. We’ve got cook books and craft ideas too.
Let us know if there’s a Halloween-themed item in our collection that you’d like. We’ll try to track it down for you, sign it out to you, and bring it to the PubLit meeting this Tuesday. Then you’ll be all set for the meeting on Oct. 28! If you find something you like, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518.743.0271 x230.
We’ve rounded up a few suggestions for you below, including books, e-books and audiobooks. Click on the covers for more info.
