Feeling bummed out because summer is coming to an end?
Don’t think of it as an end – think of all the new beginnings fall brings! New classes, new clothes (sweaters and boots – yay!), new friends and experiences.
We’re starting something new too. Beginning this Tuesday, Karissa Alcox at Forest Heights Community Library (the librarian mastermind who hosted Books in the Park all summer) is hosting Board Game Café.
Try new games, drink good coffee, and discover awesome local businesses. Save the world, adopt secret identities, and argue about wheat. Games include Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Anomia, Avalon, and Bang. It’s the perfect place to hang out with your friends and meet new people. And save money – it’s free! No registration required; just drop in.
Board Game Café will be held on the first Tuesday and the third Monday of September, October, and November. Thanks to all our community partners for supporting these events:
Tuesday, October 6: Games on Tap
Monday, October 19: Crossroads Café
Tuesday, November 3: Crossroads Café
Monday, November 16: Adventurer’s Guild
This is part of our It’s On! programming – programs created especially for (but not limited to) the 20s/30s crowd.
We’ve got lots of other events of interest to the 20s and 30s crowd coming up. Save the date for:
Wednesday, Sept. 30 Jeff Lemire: Book Club with the Author
Wednesday, Sept. 30 An Evening with Jeff Lemire
Thursday, Oct. 8 Film Club: Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl
Saturday, Oct. 24 Do-It-Yourself Festival
Saturday, Nov. 21 International Games Day
