… and by better, we mean WAY better.

We’d like to thank Christie Digital Systems Canada Inc. for the generous in-kind donation of a new projection system in the Theatre at Central Library. This donation, made possible by President and COO Gerry Remers, means that everyone in the community now has the opportunity to have a big-screen, cinema-quality movie experience – for free!

Christie Digital installed the new projector last week, and visitors over the weekend were the first to see the dramatic improvement in quality. Regular customers to our Free Flicks were amazed at the sharp, crystal-clear picture. After Sunday’s showing of Tomorrowland, many in the audience of about 100 people burst into spontaneous applause.

“That was a completely different experience. Wow!” ~ regular Free Flicks customer

Planning on going to see the blockbuster finale of the Hunger Games series, Mockingjay 2?

Refresh your memory with a screening of Mockingjay 1 tonight at 6:30 pm.

Free Flicks at Central Library are a great way to see movies that simply must be viewed on a big screen to be appreciated. And our family-friendly Sunday Free Flicks means every family can go to the movies together, without spending a dime.

Check out our upcoming Free Flicks: movies for adults and teens on Saturdays, family-friendly movies on Sundays, and special evening movie events as well. No registration required; just drop in. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks or stop in at Hacienda Coffee in the Reading Lounge.

Thanks again to Christie Digital! Your generous donation makes one more way we can help to create a level playing field for everyone in the community.
