Where community connects

Win a Chromebook!

As the year draws to a close, it’s time to think about 2016 – and we’ve got the perfect planning tool for you.

Purchase a Leejay Levene calendar for just $10 at any library location, and your name will be entered in a draw for a Chromebook! The more you buy, the better your chance to win.

Your calendar includes Leejay’s personal artwork on every page, along with an inspirational quote from our gracious contributors, including Governor General David Johnston, Mayor Berry Vrbanovic, authors Charlotte Gray, Emma Donoghue, Lawrence Hill, and Tasneem Jamal, journalist Heather Hiscox, Dr. Marla Shapiro, and many others. The calendar also acts as a guide to some of Kitchener Public Library’s programs, collections, and services.

Pick up a few – at $10, these make lovely stocking stuffers or holiday gifts for teachers, bus drivers, caregivers, and neighbours. And your gift to them is also a gift to the library! All proceeds from sales of the Leejay Levene calendar will go toward creating a Teen Tech Living Room at Central Library, a place where teens can use the latest technology to connect, collaborate, and discover.

Throughout the month of November, people who bought calendars at the Kitchener Market and at Community Corner during the Kitchener Rangers game were given a ballot to win an autographed hockey stick. (Thanks, Kitchener Rangers!)

The winner was Linda Tester, long-time Rangers fan. Congratulations, Linda!

We’d like to thank Elli Levene for coming to Central Library for the official draw. And, as always, a big thank you to all of the sponsors and contributors in this year’s Leejay Levene calendar. Be sure to purchase yours before the end of December.
