Virtual DIY Festival

Post by Aimee, Information Services staff

DIY Festival is celebrating its 6th year!

DIY aka Do-It-Yourself is both practical and creative. Whether out of financial necessity, tradition or “craftivism”, learning hands on skills is a satisfying accomplishment.

In the spirit of Do It Yourself, Kitchener Public Library has hosted a “DIY Festival” at the Central Library in the Lounge for the past 5 years. We have hosted some amazing local businesses, guilds, hobbyists, and all around talented folks to teach you how to do what they do best. It is such a great day of learning, full of energy, and experimentation in the library.

We didn’t want to miss this year, so we are bringing this year’s Festival to you! Please join us when you have time- online. There is no pressure to attend at a certain time. We know that pandemic quarantine may inspire some people to be productive, and just not be in the cards for other people.

In a series of videos, you can learn something new, find a new hobby/ side hustle, acquire a new skill, then join or support a local organization. Share our “do it yourself” enthusiasm and get inspired!

Register to be notified when the videos go live or check our DIY Festival Webpage.
