International Games Week

Post by Kim, Information Services staff

International Games Week runs from November 8-14 this year! We are highlighting roleplaying games for Games Week here at KPL!

What is a Roleplaying Game (RPG)?

A roleplaying game is a storytelling game where you control the actions and decisions of a character in a fictional setting. There are both tabletop and video game versions of this type of game, one of the most popular being Dungeons and Dragons (D&D).

Most tabletop RPGs are played with 2-5 adventurers and a Dungeon Master (DM) for D&D or a Game Master (GM) for most other games. The GM or DM runs the game, plans the story and knows about all of the adventurers – the adventurers typically know about themselves and a little bit about their fellow adventurers.

If you are interested in Dungeons and Dragons, check out our Interactive Digital Adventure we created as a short introduction to D&D quests – no Dungeon Master required!
