International Games Week 2021

Post by Kim, Information Services staff

International Games Week runs November 7-13th this year! This year we are highlighting video games here at Kitchener Public Library (KPL).

Did you know?

If you don’t already play video games, you might not know that they promote eye coordination, finger/hand dexterity, empathy/emotional growth and social interaction. Video games can be used as educational tools and have been used to teach about science, historical events, typing skills and more!

Kitchener Public Library has a wide variety of video games to take home and enjoy. We have games available for the following consoles:

Most Xbox One and PS4 games are compatible on the newer Xbox Series X and PS5 consoles, however only some include upgrades or optimizations for the newer consoles. You can check in the description of the game to see if this is the case.

Think you know video games?

Come check out our Get Social: Video Game Trivia program on Tuesday November 9th at 7pm to show off your video games knowledge. We’ll test you on the console classics through to modern masterpieces, including video game history, behind the scenes facts, music and more!
